Principal Software Engineer

FinTrU is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join their rapidly growing technology team. The successful individuals can be based in either Belfast or Derry/Londonderry.
You will be responsible for the successful, timely implementation of software solutions in the RegTech space. You will be working closely with Technical Architect(s) and Senior Software Engineers to produce scalable, secure, and relevant enterprise solutions. As required, this position may encompass the following steps of the product life cycle: specification, design, implementation, testing, release, and support.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To explore appropriate technical solutions with the technical architect
  • Lead the implementation decisions, uplifting multiple development teams
  • To drive implementation decisions that produce scalable, high-performance, high-availability solutions using proven frameworks and technology stacks
  • To assist the development team in building deployment processes and maintaining cloud native hosting and deployment
  • To design and develop reusable libraries and APIs for use across solutions where relevant
  • To write unit and integration tests, within automated test environments to ensure code quality
  • To assist in defining the team's technical strategy and advising on product roadmaps
  • To write concise yet comprehensive technical documentation
  • To be responsible for work quality, ensuring it meets enterprise level standards for all technical output

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Skills to deliver technical leadership as part of our team of professional engineers
  • Significant working experience within a Microsoft technology stack (C# .Net Core, Azure, …),
  • Significant working experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular
  • Significant working experience of test-driven development alongside use of automated test frameworks
  • Working experience cloud native deployment, hosting and scaling enterprise level solutions (IaC, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes, …)
  • Deep knowledge and ability to build high performing, scalable, and reliable solutions (REST, APIs, DDD, …)
  • Proven experience of project working and commercial development processes; particularly Agile methodologies
  • Ability to identify relevant and stable technology stacks pertaining to the problem domain
