The rapid growth of FinTrU’s business means a parallel increase in risk to the organisation and has led to the establishment of a robust Risk & Compliance function (“FinTrU Compliance”). An effective risk, compliance and governance framework will drive compliance with regulatory, statutory and other obligations as well as helping to enhance business efficiencies and support progress towards achieving FinTrU’s strategic objectives.​ The role reports directly to the Internal Risk & Compliance Lead and will have considerable exposure to FinTrU’s Senior Management.
FinTrU is looking for an ambitious and highly skilled Audit/Compliance Assurance professional to join its Internal Risk & Compliance function.

This opportunity will be at our Senior Associate level and the successful candidate may be located in either our Belfast or North West Offices.

Role Responsibilities
 
  • Create and implement a Compliance Assurance Framework for FinTrU (including the development of policies & procedures, training (if required), infrastructure, etc.)
  • Develop an annual Compliance Assurance Plan based on significant risks to FinTrU, submitting the plan to the Risk & Compliance Manager and Executive Committee for approval
  • Implement the Compliance Assurance Plan, as approved, including any special projects assigned by the Risk & Compliance Manager or requested by senior management
  • Monitor, assess and report on the application by the organisation of its internal control processes
  • Work with the first line of defence to put in place robust and effective Risk & Control Self-Assessments so that FinTrU Compliance can monitor and report on their effectiveness
  • Report significant issues relating to the processes for controlling the activities of the company and provide information concerning such issues through to resolution
  • Issue quarterly reports to the Executive Committee addressing the results of audits conducted, summarising observations and recommendations made and management responses to the audit findings

Essential Experience
 
  • Undergraduate degree
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in an Internal Audit and/or Compliance Assurance role

Desirable Experience
 
  • Qualified (or working towards a qualification) – ACA/ACCA/CIA  
  • Knowledge and experience of ISO270001:2013
