We are looking for talented and ambitious Legal Associates and Senior Associates to join the 'Best Company to Work For' (Belfast Business Awards 2018 & 2019).  The successful candidates will work within our teams to support our global Tier 1 Investment Banking clients across a broad range of functions.

We welcome applications from individuals who wish to be based in our Belfast or North West (Derry/Londonderry) offices.  All of our offices remain closed but, thanks to FinTrU's technology infrastructure, we are able to recruit and onboard joiners remotely.

Role Responsibilities
  • We have a number of roles currently available across our Business As Usual and Projects teams. Responsibilities can include any of the following:
  • Drafting, negotiation and execution of amendment documentation to facilitate LIBOR / CSDR remediation
  • Drafting, negotiating and arranging for the execution of a wide range of legal trading documentation including, but not limited to, OTC Derivatives Clearing and Prime Brokerage documentation, to facilitate trading in line with current financial regulations
  • Liaising with trading desks, client relationship teams, risk management and specialist legal teams to resolve various derivatives-related issues
  • Carrying out legal capacity and authority due diligence checks
  • Reviewing and implementing advice from collateral netting and legal opinions
  • Contributing to the supervision and oversight of analysts within the team
  • Working closely with relevant stakeholders on client launches and priorities to ensure timely execution of all trading documentation
  • Liaising with the appropriate teams to ensure trading accounts are activated and ready to meet Day-1 trading requirements
  • Liaising with local counsel in multiple jurisdictions
Required Experience
  • Undergraduate degree is essential, preferably in law
  • Minimum of two years’ experience of working with an investment bank, law firm, asset manager, stock exchange, clearing house or depositary (either in-house or through a third party intermediary)
  • Working knowledge of the financial services industry specifically with regards to the regulations affecting the derivatives market
  • Language skills, preferably Spanish, German, Italian or French, are desirable
